Hi, I’m Charlotte – management consultant by trade, wanderer by nature, serial over packer, and someone who has been known to trip over absolutely nothing in the middle of the airport (clumsy is my travel love language!).
I have been to 37 countries and counting, I still cannot get enough. My favourites? Japan (where every snack felt like a major cultural event) and Italy (because carbs a basically a religion there and I am fully converted). I also spend a lot of time in Austria due to my husband being from there, so there is no escaping schnitzel and Sound of Music references.
Ar home in England, we’re usually at our local beach with our little Cockapoo. He has more stamps in his ‘doggy passport’ than most people I know and he travels in a much more luxurious fashion than I do (am I jealous? Maybe a little bit).
I am obsessed with festivals and live music. Most people plan holidays around beaches and I have been known to plan them around gigs I’d like to see (case in point, I once travelled to Berlin just to see Halsey.. and perhaps take in the local nightlife). So expect plenty of posts on festivals, concerts abroad and the beauty of combining travel and music.
So why wander with Charlotte?
This blog is part diary, part guide and part ‘please laugh at my misadventures so they feel a bit less embarrassing’. I’ll be sharing:
- Travel stories – the good, the bad and the ‘how did I end up here?’
- Itineraries & guides – some cheat sheets for cities and countries I’ve loved
- Travel hacks – how I plan my trips, pack (I sometimes manage a carry on!) and save my time, money and sanity!
- Pet friendly adventures – tips for travelling with a pup, both with in the UK and abroad
- Festival and gig tips – because music can make the journey even better!
A little promise from me…
This won’t be a glossy ‘look at my perfect life on a private yacht’ kind of travel guide (spoiler: I don’t own a yacht). Instead it will be a colourful, useful and imperfect – because travelling is never actually perfect, and that is the best part.
So whether you’re here for practical tips, funny stories, festival guides or to live vicariously through my clumsy escapades (or my dogs bout travels!), welcome aboard.
Now buckle up, grab a snack (we always pack snacks!) and let’s go and wing it around the world!
